FloatLab
The world’s largest wind generator is now in operation. DTU Wind and Energy Systems and DHI have successfully developed an open-jet wind generator for floating wind tests. Combined with DHIs wave basin, it enables tests of +20 MW class floating wind turbines in turbulent wind and waves.

🍀 Each of the 25 fans operates as part of a synchronised system. Very much like voices in a choir, singing a coordinated melody. The fans replicate the turbulent inflow turbines experience offshore. So now we can physically recreate turbulence in a controlled lab setting for floating wind.
